The Nihonshi list is a reading and discussion group dedicated to reading Japan history,
biography, and classic Japanese literature. We also discuss contemporary Japanese political
issues, and issues associated with Japanese language.

The Nihonshi list is open to all, including enthusiastic amateurs of Japan history, professional
scholars, students, writers, or anyone who likes to read and discuss history, literature or
biography.  We read a different book on Japan history each month.  We hope that this list is a
manner for all of us to learn and discuss Japan history, literature and culture, in a casual
environment.
